Over three weeks in Vietnam, these participants will work with Vietnamese college students to teach middle school students lessons in math, physics, English, and life skills, as well as in sports such as soccer, baseball, volleyball, and dance.
As of now, the team has completed their first week in the Mekong Delta. There has been a lot of laughter and joyful vibes echoing around the school throughout the day from the ACE participants, their Vietnamese partners and the local youth they’ve been working with. The American and Vietnamese volunteers have hit it off from the start, working well together and enjoying each other’s company.
Across the board, they’ve been very engaged and focused on teaching and coaching well. They are beginning to see the results of their perseverance as the camp comes together and the kids begin to trust and open up. They’ve set a great foundation for meaningful weeks to come!
