The ACE program launched in early 2015 thanks to the generous support and vision of David Rubenstein, who was recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden. The medal is the nation’s “highest civilian honor,” recognizing those “who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values or security of the United States, world peace or other significant societal, public or private endeavors.”
Thanks to Mr. Rubenstein’s support, Duke student-athletes have been able to participate in immersive, international, civic engagement programs for the past 10 years. Congratulations to Mr. Rubenstein, and thank you for your contributions to the ACE program!
