Tara Christensen, Duke Rowing and ACE in Vietnam ’16 alum, “has experienced much adversity at the collegiate level,” according to her head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno. During her time with ACE, Tara coached basketball and taught biology to students in the Mekong Delta.

In the documentary, Tara notes “I think my favorite part of the whole [ACE] experience was definitely just all the time doing sports with the kids – it kind of renewed my love for rowing and my excitement to be back on the team.” She went on to say, “I kind of found that passion for just competing for the sake of competing and I had forgotten how fun that is, and to get to do that with those kids – it was just a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I am so thankful that I got to do that, because I really think they taught me so much more than I could have ever taught them.”
