Participating in ACE in Costa Rica this summer is meaningful to me because it allows me to merge my passion for early childhood development, education, and sports with international community involvement. Growing up, my family raised over 15 foster children, and I’ve seen firsthand how impactful a supportive environment can be on a child’s development. I’m excited to explore a better understanding of this in a global setting.
Eliza’s past experiences with volunteering and community engagement include working as a swimming, basketball, and rowing coach for over five years. Eliza has also volunteered in many educational settings in which she primarily works with neurodiverse students and students facing social challenges, fostering a sense of support for students who do not have the privilege of a strong support system.
