I am participating in the ACE program this summer to learn about a new culture and have a rewarding experience with people I would not usually come into contact with. I am excited to create meaningful connections with local Vietnamese children and students and learn from the ways that they look at the world.
As part of the ACE in Vietnam program, participants will teach academics, sports and life skills to students at under-resourced middle schools in the Mekong Delta with the aim of encouraging them to prepare for higher education.
Jonathan’s past experiences with service include core membership in the Duke Climate Coalition, a position as executive in CHANCE Tutoring, and volunteering at the Karner Laboratory at the Duke School of Medicine.
