“I have always wanted to do a study-abroad experience and my busy athletic schedule has not allowed me to. I think that doing ACE will give me more skills with working with a team and leadership skills that I can bring back to my own sports team at Duke.”
Kylie’s past experiences with service include advising younger student-athletes as an ACTION mentor and participating in Duke’s Collegiate Athlete Pre-Medical Experience Program (CAPE), a premedical program for female student-athletes. Kylie is the on-campus representative for Duke Women’s Swimming and Diving involvement in Team Impact, an organization that pairs a child with a serious illness to a collegiate sports team. Along with some of her teammates, Kylie also provides free swim lessons for children in low-income families with Swimming with the Blue Devils. Kylie has served as a Duke University Swim Camp counselor and Recruiting Coordinator for her team. Finally, Kylie has traveled with her church in the past to Nicaragua, where she volunteered at an orphanage.
