I still have two and a half weeks here in South Africa and I’m already dreading leaving. I quickly grew comfortable with the other student athletes from Duke and Stanford after arriving and it feels like I’ve known them much longer than just four days.
I’ve been to Nomzamo’s ACJ Primary School to teach lessons on goal-setting and have played soccer alongside the other school children during recess. I have seen some of the amazing sights that South Africa has to offer, including a farm showcasing the country’s diverse wildlife. After all of this, I know that I have just barely grazed the surface of what the trip has in store for us, and am extremely excited to continue learning more about the Cape Town and Gordon’s Bay communities.
