Program Expectations
Pre-Program
- Submit all registration material on time (including a valid passport) and complete ACE Participation Agreement
- Participate in all pre-program virtual/in-person orientation meetings (including, but not limited to):
- Virtual ACE Welcome and Orientation Meeting with all ACE participants (March 6)
- In-person on-campus pre-program meeting covering topics such as ethical service, health and safety, etc. (date TBD, April)
- Two virtual program-specific meetings with your ACE program/project team, Ambassadors, and program leaders (April – June, dependent on program departure date)
- Complete Duke working with minors training and background check
- Complete pre-travel health visit at Duke Student Health
- Complete pre-travel Canvas course on health and safety
During Program
- Engage and contribute to a positive group dynamic
- Actively contribute to your program team and community partner projects
- Participate in reflection discussions
- Share about your experience via ACE blog and social media
Post-Program
- Provide feedback and reflection on ACE experience via end-of-program survey
- Write a letter of gratitude thanking the donors for the experience
- Participate in ACE back-on-campus events during the academic year
- Develop a personal ACE Action Plan and work with ACE staff on the implementation
- Commit to staying involved as an ACE Ambassador!
