How to Apply
Explore the ACE website and become familiar with the program offerings, dates, training facilities, and requirements. Begin communicating with your coach about your interest in applying and if there are any dates, training requirements, etc. to keep in mind as you choose a program(s) to which to apply. Connect with ACE Ambassadors to learn more about their tips for applying. Read student blog posts from previous years and browse our social media channels.
Reach out to an ACE Ambassador (program alumni mentors and peer leaders) for advice from a student who has already done ACE. Attend drop-in advising with ACE Ambassadors held at the AARC (Stanford) and Training Table (Duke) to ask questions.
Attend ACE information sessions and meet ‘n greets offered at your campus. Sessions covering ACE programs will be held in Nov.-Jan. before the application deadline. We encourage attending an information session and/or a meet ‘n greet prior to submitting an application. If you wish to be considered for more than one specific ACE program, you may rank your preference of up to two ACE programs on your application. Ready to attend an ACE information session or meet ‘n greet? Check out the ACE information session and meet ‘n greet schedule.
As you choose which program(s) you’d like to be considered for, think about what applicable skills you bring and previous work and/or volunteer experience that support the scope of service offered at the specific program(s) to which you are applying. Let your coach know that you will be applying so he/she can complete the coach’s recommendation.
Review the application questions (early!) and start thinking about your answers. Don’t wait until the last minute to apply! When you’re ready to begin, gather your application materials and apply via the ACE application portal! Please note that the application deadline has passed for Summer 2020 programs.
