This summer our four ACE in Place Thailand virtual participants will be working with Shark Guardian to drive an awareness campaign, focused on Thailand dive center staff and their diving customers. Their project will be extremely valuable for Shark Guardian and eOceans, a collaborative scientific initiative which focuses on informing ocean conservation efforts with crowd sourced data.
Meet the ACE in Place Thailand 2023 Participants
Conor Bohrer (Duke Men’s Cross Country and Track)
Conor will be participating in ACE in Place from Cincinatti, Ohio. In addition to joining ACE-in-Place Thailand this summer, Conor is taking physics 1 and 2 and is volunteering in a local cardiac lab as a researcher. He is excited to play a role in global marine conservation efforts alongside ACE partner Shark Guardian and his ACE-in-Place teammates.
Hayden Kwan (Stanford Men’s Swimming & Diving)
I am currently in Hong Kong training for World University Games and Asian Games. I am thankful that ACE offers a virtual program so that I am able to participate in ACE while abroad. The Thailand program involves working with Shark Guardian to promote their conservation efforts, and this piqued my interest because I have always been interested in marine wildlife and conservation. It will be a great starting point to learn and pursue this interest.
Henry Morrissey (Stanford Men’s Swimming & Diving)
Throughout ACE, I am located in Stanford, CA. In addition to ACE, I am training extensively in the pool, have been working swim camps, and recently decided to do some dog walking since I miss our family dog.
Matyas Csiki-Fejer (Duke Men’s Cross Country)
Throughout ACE, Matyas will be living in Durham, working, training, and participating in ACE in Place Thailand. Matyas has previous background in international development and is excited to be part of ACE this summer.
