Ambassador Profiles (2020-2021)

Dejanae Davis is a junior at Duke University on the Women's Softball Team majoring in Environmental Science and Policy. She also participates with Athletes in Action on campus. During ACE in Place Dejanae developed a more conscious sense of practicing service ethically, which allowed her to reflect on her past service experiences and prepare for future endeavors. As her major shows, Dejanae is passionate about the environment and specifically environmental equity and justice. Dejanae plans to continue a career post college in environmental science, pushing for equity within and between communities along the way.

Caroline Jacobsen is a junior from Tallahassee, FL who is on the Softball Team at Duke. She is studying Political Science and Psychology and earning the Markets and Management Studies certificate. Caroline was accepted into the ACE in Thailand program, however due to COVID-19, instead participated in ACE in Place. Through ACE in Place, Caroline had the opportunity to learn about how to best approach civic engagement and better understand how to truly help others all while meeting other Duke and Stanford athletes. Caroline plans to use the information she learned from ACE in Place in all other areas of public service.
