Student-athletes participating in the ACE program have an opportunity to train while on their program, as ACE recognizes the need for student-athletes to maintain fitness over the summer. ACE programs are structured so that participants have access to a local gym where they are able to train throughout their program. ACE works closely with on-site staff and the Duke Sports Performance staff to ensure the necessary equipment is available on-site. ACE encourages participants to speak with their Sports Performance coach about specific training plans, should they want them, as staff will know what equipment is available at each program location.

ACE makes an effort to accommodate the diverse training needs of all student-athletes. Equipment available on ACE programs may include free weights such as dumbbells and kettlebells, weight rack, resistance bands, medicine balls, and cardio equipment such as jump ropes, treadmills, and stationary bikes. Additionally, all ACE programs have designated areas determined by on-site staff to be safe for longer-distance running. Swimming pool access is available on select ACE programs. Some programs will have access to more specialized equipment than others. ACE participants are encouraged to read through the program profiles to familiarize themselves with the equipment available at each program location and determine which programs will suit their training needs. See photos and videos below for examples of training equipment available at each ACE program location.
