This photo was taken on our walk down from the trail. Julián, a local community member, talked with me the entire walk down about his job and life here in Cusco. I learned so much about his everyday life and what he loves most about where he was raised. I’m forever thankful for my time spent working alongside members of the community in Peru.

Before beginning our work in the community, we all walked up the trail to the viewpoint at the top, which can be seen here. The view was truly breathtaking. We were able to learn about what developments were being made in the area and in our work. This viewpoint will become a tourist spot in the upcoming years, and I’m so glad we were able to see the area and help to develop the trail.

This is the logo of our hotel where we are staying which is operated by CBC, our community partner. Casa Campesina means "home of the countrywoman," which references the work in the community that our hotel does to help farmers visiting Cusco who come from the countryside to stay at the hotel while doing business in the city.
