ACE is an abroad service experience that I wouldn’t be able to have otherwise as a student athlete here at Stanford. I’m excited to experience the rainforest in person and to talk with Indigenous groups about their methods of farming and how they have preserved their cultural practices.
Caelan’s past experiences with community engagement includes volunteering for Miracle League, an organization dedicated to giving children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball, volunteering as a coach for club softball teams in Arizona, and working in soup kitchens and food donation centers in Arizona. She has also worked with Cardinal Community to pick up trash along the Stanford Rowing House.
